To celebrate its 70th birthday, Porsche produced a concept study of a 911 Speedster. Now, we have learned that this beautiful concept is going into limited production. Porsche will produce exactly 1,948 units of the open-top model.
This number celebrates the Porsche 356 “Number 1” that got its operating license on June 8, 1948. Porsche will begin production of the celebratory model in 2019 and it will be the first model to offer the new Heritage Design Packages. These packages give buyers even more options for customization.
The 911 Speedsters will all come with Guards Red exterior paint, which looks back to the 1988 911 Speedster. In addition, they will feature 21-inch cross-spoke wheels and a perforated black leather interior with red accents.
To make this limited-edition model a true performance machine, its body is based on the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. Many body parts are made using lightweight carbon fiber composite and its exhaust system is completed with titanium tailpipes.
Powering the Speedster will be a naturally-aspirated flat-six that will produce more than 500 horsepower and will be capable of producing engine speeds up to 9,000 rpm. The engine will only be available with a six-speed manual transmission.

The all-new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta was named to Wards 10 Best UX list. This award is given to vehicles that demonstrate superior user-friendly features and enjoyable technology experiences. The Jetta stood out for its simple displays, easy phone pairing, and a long list of standard and available technology and driver-assist features.
WardsAutos editors noted that even with its affordable price, “the new Jetta employs upscale materials and leaves no indication that shoppers on a budget need to settle for less. The Digital Cockpit reconfigurable instrument cluster appears for the first time in a Jetta, delivering breathtaking graphics, mapping and functionality and typically found until now in much more expensive Audi and Porsche luxury cars.”
All VW Jetta models come well-equipped with advanced technology features that start with the MIB II infotainment system. This is the foundation for the next-generation of Car-Net® services. The Jetta comes with user-friendly features like Bluetooth® technology, an SD card slot, and multiple USB interfaces.
Drivers can also get a boost of confidence from the Jetta because it comes standard with the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System. This system automatically applies the brakes after an accident to help avoid additional collisions.
