Over the past decade or so, in-car technology has taken big steps forward and it shows no signs of slowing down. “Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the car,” Volkswagen CEO Dr. Herbert Diess said. “Autonomous driving, zero tailpipe emission mobility and digital networking are virtually impossible without advances in AI and deep learning. Combining the imagination of Volkswagen with NVIDIA, the leader in AI technology, enables us to take a big step into the future.”

In the not-too-distant future, VW says we will see vehicles that have AI assistants built in that will help with voice commands and gesture and facial recognition. These vehicles will be both safer and more enjoyable to ride in.

VW will begin gradually introducing autonomous and AI driving capabilities starting in 2020. This will go hand-in-hand with its goal to have a lineup of more than 20 fully-electric vehicles by 2025.

Here at Gossett VW Porsche, we are excited to see where the future of mobility will take Volkswagen and the rest of the automotive industry.
