2018 VW Polo

Volkswagen Polo

The sixth-generation Polo is better than ever. Of course, a lot is still under wraps – including the car itself. There’s a lot to learn about the 2018 VW Polo but it’s sure to impress.

The Polo is literally “under wraps” in order to camouflage it from the public. Disguised prototypes have been hitting the roads of Europe and South Africa, and so far we know it’ll be a hit.

The new Polo is slightly larger than its predecessors, which will be an improvement in legroom for all passengers. Along with its increase in size, it also gets an increase in efficiency. It will have the most advanced powertrain yet and there’s the possibility for hybrid and all-electric options.

If you’re a sport lover, don’t worry! The 2018 Polo GTI is on its way, too. This car will have all the power you could ever want thanks to advanced turbocharged engines that deliver plenty of horsepower.

If you’re intrigued by the 2018 VW Polo, you’ll have to wait. There’s no word yet on a U.S. release but it will make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September 2017. So until then, you’ll have to imagine everything that the next Polo will offer.

Porsche Cayenne Tows a Jumbo Jet

2017 Porsche Cayenne

There’s tons of reasons to love Porsche vehicles. Style, luxury, and power. Plenty of power. The Porsche Cayenne proved all of this when it recently scored a Guinness World Record for towing an airplane.

The Cayenne not only towed an airplane—it towed a jumbo jet. While the Cayenne’s max towing capacity is listed as 7,700 pounds, you can bet that a jumbo jet weighs significantly more than that. In fact, at 314 tons, the Airbus A380 that was towed was about 82 times the Cayenne’s max towing amount.

The amazing feat took place at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, where crews hooked up the airplane to the Cayenne just as they would a trailer. The Cayenne’s strength took it from there – pulling the double-decker plane 140 feet across the tarmac. That’s the heaviest aircraft to ever be pulled by a production car!

“Our cars can go a bit beyond what our customers might expect,” said Porsche GB technician Richard Payne. What an understatement!

While you shouldn’t try towing an airplane at home, you’ll be impressed by all the power the Porsche Cayenne can give you. Check it out today at Gossett Porsche VW.
