Despite not going to the North American International Auto Show this year, Porsche still managed to kick up a stir of its own by hosting an off-site event that revealed the brand’s lineup of five new GTS variants on the 911 Carrera family. The models included in the event were the 911 GTS Coupe and Cabriolet, Carrera 4 GTS Coupe and Cabriolet, as well as the Targa 4. In addition, all of them had the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine under the hood. It was announced at the event that the Porsche 911 GTS would be good for 450 horsepower with the twin-turbo engine.
All of these 2017 models, according to Porsche, have a top speed of over 186 mph, but the fastest by far is the Carrera 4 GTS, which can reach up to 193 mph thanks to its innovative 7-speed manual transmission. Additionally, both of the GTS coupe models outmatch their non-GTS counterparts when it comes to going from 0 to 60 mph, shaving 0.2 seconds of their time. Of course, Porsche has taken the time to add some extra, luxurious cosmetic touches to the GTS models as well in order to give them a bit of high-end flair.
The Porsche 911 GTS horsepower rating isn’t the be-all, end-all of what the new 2017 GTS model lineup has to offer. Check out everything they provide when they go on sale in the US this upcoming April.
