The hybrid supercar originally made its debut at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show where it was praised and heralded as the new “it” car. After further development the hypercar was launched in 2013. Now in 2015, the Porsche 918 Spyder is blazing a new path for sports cars of the future.

The 918 Spyder uses a compact and powerful 4.6-liter V8 engine that outputs 608 horsepower and a combined hybrid electric drive system that adds 279 horsepower. If you’re keeping track of the Porsche 918 Spyder specs, that’s a total output of 887 horsepower and 940 lb-ft of torque!

There are two electric motors on the car: one for the front axle and one for the rear. The plug-in function allows the Spyder’s battery to reach a full charge in less than seven hours on a standard socket. In addition, the car yields an EPA rating of 67 MPGe.
